If it's time for new furniture think about re upholstering what you already have? New upholstered furniture today is often made as fast and cheap as possible. No more springs in the seat of the frame , now is elastic webbing that over strengths in a short time . The frames are often made of plywood and particle board not solid wood . The term engineered wood is used to describe them. They don't hold up to real everyday use.
Reinvest in your old furniture it's made better then today's furniture. Back when things were made to last.
