If you are thinking of having your furniture recovered and are not sure if your should re upholstery or slipcover here are some ideas. Slipcovers may give you more choices, you can have two different looks , one with the upholstery fabric you already have on your furniture and the second with the slipcover. If you have a pattern on now slipcover with a solid or stripe, or go with seasonal looks for the summer or holidays .Slipcovers can be taken off and cleaned ( even white canvas comes clean). Also slipcover if you want to hide fabric you don't like or slipcover just so you can wash it.
Re upholstery is the way to go if you don't like the fabric you have on your furniture. It's a great way to keep well made furniture, they just aren't make furniture the way they use to.
