Not All Fabrics are the same When looking for fabric to re upholster your furniture there are many places to look , upholstery shops , outlets and on line. When looking on line you can find places that say they have the fabric in stock but they have to order from the same sources as the rest of us. They don't have a where house full of fabrics. And the prices and stock information is not always up dated ( they don't have time to do that , the information could be years old). The out lets may have what looks like the same fabrics that an upholstery shop has and to a lower price. But it's often not the same , the fiber content can be different the weight and thread count ( remember when you buy bed sheets the more threads the better they wear).
